sniffer is changing...

Sniffer has been and will continue to be a valued and intelligent partner. To keep delivering for Scotland and with our partners we have looked at where we can add greatest value and what our offering should be in 2012. The  external environment  is changing with different funding opportunities which means we have to respond to that challenge. Our future focus is as knowledge brokers for a resilient Scotland rather than having broad geographical coverage. .

To reflect our repositioning, we are also re-branding.  Whilst the organisation will still be called SNIFFER, in order to reflect our Scottish focus we will no longer be referred to as:  Scotland and Northern Ireland Forum for Environmental Research.

In repositioning we are also consolidating our work areas to ensure we can make best use of our intellectual capacity. We are moving away from focussing on more generalist commissioning of environmental research, to instead align our activities (which may include collating and commissioning evidence) within knowledge hubs and with a focus on resilience.

In response to SNIFFER’s repositioning, the form and content of our website will be refreshed in early 2012.  To stay up to date with the exciting changes in our work, we would recommend that you sign up to our e-bulletin service, and follow us on Twitter, as well as checking for the roll out of our refreshed website at www.sniffer.org.uk.
